This has been a project that I have wanted to undertake for the longest time. I started years ago, but got discouraged and gave up. Another brick wall I was running into was not having ANY information on my father's side, beyond his parent information. It was slow going to say the least.
With the help of a lot of kind strangers, a lot of questions to the family and even more research, it's starting to come along nicely.
The Germany connection has been found! Now, I'm on a search to find another connection...but more on that when it is done.
If you feel that I have information that would help you out, feel free to request an invitation to check out the numerous branches of this tree. If you think you have information that would help me, by all means, let me know!
IDELL VIVIAN SPINDLE DILL, our matriarch (April 17, 2015)
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my Gram, Idell Spindle Dill. She would have been 97 years old on June 20. She lived a long, mostly healthy life and tried to be independent until the very end. She was strong-willed & could be stubborn, but, I can honestly say I thank her for being that way. She passed her strength on to my mother, who in turn passed it on to me.
She was preceded in death by my Aunt Hope (Evelyn Shrewsbury) and my Uncle Billy (William Thomas, Jr).
She is survived by my Aunt Joyce Hunter, my mother Janet Brown, and my Aunt Dale (Judith Taylor).
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, more than 20 great grandchildren, and at least 13 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation and the service will be held at Lakewood Park United Methodist Church (our family church).
I love and miss you already Gram; rest in peace...
IDELL DILL CELEBRATES HER 95th BIRTHDAY
A gathering of friends and family was held in honor of my Grandmother's 95th birthday. She was really surprised since her birthday was yesterday! There were about 30 people in attendance, with the 2 youngest being under the age of 2 years (great-great grandchildren), and Gram (of course) being the oldest. There is a sequence of 5 generations of females that start with Gram and run through my mother, Janet, my sister Kim, her daughter Jessica and her daughter Serenity. Unfortunately, Serenity was with other relatives for the summer and could not attend. Lunch was served and a good time was had by all.
Here's looking forward to #96!
